Nutraceuticals and foods of interestOur group uses the impressive experimental advantages offered by the nematode animal model C. elegans to identify and/or validate new molecules/extracts capable of slowing down the progression of aging and of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g Spinal Muscular Atrophy) but also to identify chemicals and food contaminants with neurotoxic effects (e.g patulin, chlorpyrifos). Fruits extracts (e.g. kiwi), plant extracts (e.g. Brassica oleracea), stem cell extracts (e.g. tomato), microalgae, probiotics. Fields of application Food implementation, functional food, integrators. Facilities and equipments Microscopy personal and Institutional facilities; frozen collection of C.elegans mutants and transgenics.  |
