The MEN1 Mutation Database is a joint activity of the
Laboratory of Bioinformatics at the
Institute of Food Science,
CNR, Avellino (Italy),
and two Departments of the
University of Salerno, Fisciano (SA, Italy),
i.e the
Department of Chemistry and Biology "A. Zambelli",
and the
Department of Management and Information Systems.
This database presents the structural features of menin protein and its
variants. Variants of menin are associated to the
autosomal dominant disorder named Multiple endocrine neoplasia type I
(MEN1).
This information is aimed to offer useful insights to researchers
involved in the biochemical study of the menin protein, in understanding
the effects of these variations on the protein structure, and
(hopefully) to clarify the link between the observed variants and the
genetic disease.
