Research Interest and expertise in the field of nutraceuticals and functional food
My research interest and expertise are focused on the involvement of oxidative stress in the onset and progression of oncological disease. In detail I study the role covered by ROS and other factors on the pathogenetic changes. In the past years I worked also on exosomes derived from natural compounds and from citrus, investigating their roles in cancer.

Keywords: Oxidative stress, biomarkers, microRNAs

Nutraceuticals and foods of interest
All the compounds that are involved in the oxidative stress

Fields of application
Oncology but also other pathology in which ROS play a key role

Facilities and equipments
The laboratory, within the IBMF-CNR, has a fully equipped cellular and molecular biology laboratory including Nikon fluorescence microscope, two Real time PCR platforms (Eco, Illumina; CFX Connect, Biorad), DNA/RNA analysis systems, two PCR systems (Sprint PCR, Hybaid; GeneAmp PCR System 9700, Applied Biosystem) and gel electrophoresis. In addition, there are lumino-fluorimeter (FluorStar Omega, BMG LabTech); hybridizer (HyperChrome, Euroclone) and Ultra-Sonicators for tissues (Sonoplus HD2070, Bandelin; VDI12, VWR).
