Research Interest and expertise in the field of nutraceuticals and functional food
The research interest is both in clinical (in vivo) and in pre-clinical (in-vitro) studies. These are focused in diet protocol as Mediterranean Diet likewise the use of nutraceuticals, as probiotics and antioxidants, in the context of the regulation of the immune system, inflammation, cancer, neurological disorder and chronic degenerative diseases. Specifically intestinal dysbiosis is considered for the identification of new biomarkers for pulmonary, metabolic and neurological diseases.
