I’m studying cellular and molecular aspects of Coeliac disease, an autoimmune enteropathy triggered and sustained by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible subjects. I’m exploring new cell-free therapeutic strategies, based on the immunomodulatory effects of extracellular vesicles obtained from bone marrow-derived mesenchimal stem cells (MSC-EVs). I’m studying the ability of MSC-EVs to inhibit gliadin-specific CD4+T cells activation and to promote the expansion of regulatory T cells
