Research Interest and expertise in the field of nutraceuticals and functional food
My research interest is the implementation and application of wearable sensors and signal processing techniques (including machine learning) for the study of the physiological response to foods and nutraceuticals. I have conducted research studies for the assessment of physiological response to odorants and foods during sensory analysis to evaluate the emotional impact of these products. Moreover, I have participated in studies investigating the effect of nutraceuticals on brain activity.

Keywords: sensory analisi; emotion; physiological response; wearable sensors; signal processing; brain; machine learning

Nutraceuticals and foods of interest
wine, coffee, olive oil, herbs, probiotics and others

Fields of application
sensory analysis of beverages/foods; emotional/physiological response to nutraceuticals/foods; neuromarketing; clinical studies evaluating the effect of specific nutraceuticals on brain activity and physiology in different pathological condition (i.e., cardiometabolic diseases, eating disorders)

Facilities and equipments
Wearable sensors for the monitoring of physiological and neurophysiological response to nutraceuticals/foods (i.e., ECG, GSR, EEG); olfactory tests; software and algorithms for signal processing analysis and machine learning
