Research Interest and expertise in the field of nutraceuticals and functional food
Role of diet in stem cell homeostasis and cancer stem cell transformation. Expertise in high-mobility group A1 (HMGA1) protein, a crucial chromatin structure modifier and transcriptional regulator, at the crossroad between nutrients, metabolism, adipocyte differentiation, stem cell proliferation and differentiation. Glucose and phytochemicals have been suggested to modify HMGA1 binding to DNA and transcriptional activity. Nutraceuticals modifying HMGA1 binding have potential effects on health.

Keywords: HMGA1, stem cells, cancer, cancer stem cells, chromatin binding. differentiation, adipocyte

Nutraceuticals and foods of interest
resveratrol, caloric restriction mimetics, ketogenic diet

Fields of application
cancer prevention and therapy
